Jensen Monroe is a unicorn. As handsome as any model, as polite as can be, a goalie of unmatched skill, and the best friend anyone could ask for. But he longs for a particular special someone to make his life complete. He’s been in love with Wren since he was a teenager, but as his best friend’s sister, she’s always been off-limits.
Wren Lemiere has prided herself on being a love ’em and leave ’em girl her whole life. She’s all about equal opportunity in the battle of the sexes. Why should guys like her brother and his best friends get to be the only ones allowed to play the dating game? One wrong move, however, and she finds herself in violation of her own rules.
In need of a fake husband and baby daddy for her unexpected bundle of joy, Wren finally accepts Jensen is the logical one to ask for help. Except he has a counteroffer…one with so many strings attached, they may just find themselves wrapped up in ties that bind. Forever.

Eff Bradley! Wren is kickass, and I’m in love with Jensen!
You know the saying, “nice guys finish last”? Well Jensen is the nicest guy, and in this case being the last is a good thing, ’cause last means forever.
Being asked to Wren’s baby daddy was unexpected, though since he’s been crushing on her forever, an opportunity he won’t pass on. He knows given the opportunity he can make her fall in love with him.
Little does he know Wren also has a little crush on Jensen, she just believed he was out of her reach. Finding herself in a difficult situation, she does know she can count on him. What she wasn’t expecting was that Jensen doesn’t want to pretend, he wants it for real.
There were quite some unexpected surprises coming from Jensen. What was actually nice, otherwise the guy would be too perfect. Wren on the other hand is clearly faulted, though as I got to know her better, her reasoning became more clear, and I realised how awesome she truly is.
There is plenty of drama coming from all sides to keep the story flowing very nicely. Toni Aleo’s great blend of humor, romance, sexy times, hockey, and drama is once again on point. In The Crease is already added to my list of rereads.
