In high school they were the perfect couple—until the day Georgia left Leo in the cold…
Hockey player Leo Trevi has spent the last six years trying to do two things: get over the girl who broke his heart, and succeed in the NHL. But on the first day he’s called up to the newly franchised Brooklyn Bruisers, Leo gets checked on both sides, first by the team’s coach—who has a long simmering grudge, and then by the Bruisers’ sexy, icy publicist—his former girlfriend Georgia Worthington.
Saying goodbye to Leo was one of the hardest things Georgia ever had to do—and saying hello again isn’t much easier. Georgia is determined to keep their relationship strictly professional, but when a press conference microphone catches Leo declaring his feelings for her, things get really personal, really fast….
*I received a copy from the author in exchange for an honest review*
I feel by now Sarina Bowen could write IKEA instruction manuals, and I would still read it. With every book I fall more and more in love with her writing.
Her writing style flows so easy, making it impossible to put the book down. Rookie Move was once again finished in one go. I do try to savour it more, but it’s always a toss-up between wanting more, and never wanting it to end.
For those familiar with the Ivy Year series might remember Trevi from Fifteenth Minute. He’s DJ’s older brother, and hot-shot hockey player. Just being traded to the majors, this is his chance to prove himself, to see his dream come true. The last person he expected to see there was his ex, Georgia.
She broke up with him at the end of high school, and only months after a tragic event. Though Trevi never got over her. He loved her so much, and still does. Seeing this as an intervention of fate, he will not let Georgia go this time.
When will these girls learn that giving up, and quitting is not in an athlete’s vocabulary. Trevi calls Georgia the love of his life, and it’s simply adorable how much he cares about her.
Georgia was not prepared for Trevi either. She forgot how much he affected her. Though hooking up with the rookie of the team you’re the PR rep for, is not a good idea. At least that’s what she tries to tell herself.
Seeing each other again after all this times gives them the opportunity to clear the air. Mostly seeing these two grow back to each other was wonderful, and I enjoyed every second of it.
Not to mention plenty of sexy times (so hot), swoon worthy moments, and a healthy dose of humor, Sarina Bowen has another win on her hands. Trevi is your next book boyfriend, you’ll be rooting for him from the start. I could not get enough of this book.
The chance of me rereading Rookie Movie within the month? 100%
